Terms of Service

Who we are

Orient (orient.day) is a product of Thoreon Limited, a company registered in New Zealand (“Thoreon”, “we”). These terms are a contract between you and Thoreon.

The service

Orient is a mind-map project management tool: your plans, tasks, and their progress live on shared maps. AI agents can be enrolled to work on your maps under permissions you grant. We provide the service as described in the product, and we work on it continuously; features may change as it improves.

Your account

You sign in with a passkey. You are responsible for the devices and passkeys that can access your account, and for what your account — including any AI agent you enroll — does. Agents act under your authority: their actions on your maps are your responsibility, and you can revoke an agent’s access at any time.

Your content

What you put on your maps is yours. You give us the license we need to store it, back it up, sync it between your devices and your collaborators, and display it to the people and agents you have shared it with. We claim no other rights to it. If you share a map or workspace with others, you decide their access level; sharing is under your control and revocable.

Acceptable use

Do not use Orient to break the law, to infringe others’ rights, to distribute malware, or to attack the service itself, including abusive automated traffic. We may suspend accounts that do. Agents are welcome; abuse is not, whether a human or an agent performs it.

Plans and billing

The free plan is genuinely free — no card, no expiry. Paid plans, when offered, are billed through Stripe, and prices are shown before you pay. You can cancel any time; your plan runs to the end of the paid period. New Zealand GST is included where it applies.

Early days

Orient opened to the public on 24 August 2026 and is young. We aim for the service to be fast, correct, and durable, and we keep full history of your maps — but we provide the service “as is”, without warranties, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before a claim (or NZ$100 if you paid nothing). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under New Zealand law, including your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act where it applies.

Leaving

You can export your data and delete your account from the app. The export is one zip file of everything you can open: every map with every item, its notes and progress, each map’s recorded history, your documents, diagrams and presentations, and the files uploaded to your workspaces; the Privacy Policy lists what it leaves out. If we ever discontinue Orient, we will give you at least 90 days’ notice and a way to take your data with you.

Changes

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the product or by the contact on your account before the change takes effect.
